Well the racing on day 1 started out ok with my first start a beauty but ofcoarse it was a general! From then on things went down hill, i got smashed by a random guy on the start that i didnt see and got pumped in the race. The second race was slightly better but my main problem was that all i needed to do was just get off the start in good shape and thats it, so i tried that and it worked out ok - not great, but ok. From then i played the race a little too conservative which lost me a heap of boats which pissed me off but im gettin there. The start line is hard to start on because we have a 70 odd boat fleet trying to start on a small line which isnt quite big enough for everyone.
Day 2 (today) was different to yesterday because we had a heap more wind and the fullrig rig sailors loved it. i was pretty happy with my results today because i stayed in good shape most of the time and even caught alot of boats that should have been smashing me in this wind (heavier people with an average weight of 75 - 85kgs). Im not too happy with the results so far but there is 8 races to go and a chance to either stay consistant and better my scores…
My results so far have put me in 17th overall, at this point i cant remember my individual results from the first 4 races.
Give me more downwinds like these and i will be off no worries lol
